4 ideas to maximise your productivity
PallMallWe could all do with maximising our productivity from time to
time. Here are 4 simple steps that you can take to maximise your
own productivity and that of your employees in the workplace.
Have meetings standing up
We've all been there- trapped in those meetings that seem to go
one for an eternity without actually addressing anything
meaningful. If you're looking for a way to boost the productivity
of your meetings, holding them whilst you're stood up could be the
answer. This is because standing, rather than sitting down,
can make people feel more engaged in the meeting and willing to
contribute. It also has the added benefit of making people come to
the point quicker-the longer the meeting goes on, the more tired
their legs will get, providing a welcome incentive to be
concise!
Track how long you're spending on tasks
Keeping a carefully check of the amount of time that you're
spending on tasks can help you to manage your time efficiently,
improving your productivity. Give yourself a time-limit for
particular tasks and try not to go other it. If you don't finish
the task within the time you've given yourself, leave it and come
back to it later when you've completed everything.
Follow the two-minute rule
If you have a short task that you know can be completed in under
two minutes, make this a priority and complete it straight away.
This can help you to make the most of small periods of time you may
have at work between projects or meetings.
Get organised
In truth, one of the most effective ways that you can boost your
productivity is simply getting organised. Each morning, create a
to-do list of your tasks for the days and sort these into order of
importance. This will help you keep on track of. There are
several free online project management tools that you can use to
help you.
